Criteria for Establishing Eligibility
Scholarships will be awarded to graduating senior women from either Vero Beach High School, Indian River Charter School, Sebastian River High School who has achieved 3.0 academic excellence, has demonstrated leadership potential in her community, and has financial need. There shall be no barriers to full consideration for a scholarship based on race, creed, sexual orientation, national origin, or disability. The recipients will be determined by the Scholarship Committee of the Vero Beach branch of the American Association of University Women.
Administration of Scholarships
The number and amounts of scholarships will be determined by the Scholarship Committee and the Board of Directors of AAUW Vero Beach branch.
If in the opinion of the Scholarship Committee there is no suitable candidate, or if there are insufficient funds, no award will be given.
Money for Scholarships is paid directly to the college of her choice upon the Committee’s receipt of a letter of acceptance.
Scholarships will not be awarded to applicants whose financial aid package will be reduced by the college if they receive a scholarship.
The number and amounts of scholarships will be made known to applicants by March 31, 2022.
A certificate of award will be presented to each recipient at the scholarship awards night at the student’s high school. Your attendance is required.
A letter of notification will be sent to each recipient. The names of recipients will be announced publicly unless otherwise specified. A photo and short biographical information will be requested.
