Scholarships Make a Difference — Because of You
In 2025-26, our local branch of the AAUW provided over $10,000 in scholarships and stipends to girls and women in Indian River County. Here’s what a couple of the recipients said:
“Your scholarship has allowed me to fully focus on my studies and campus involvement. This quarter, I earned a 4.0 GPA ... at the University of Chicago.”

The AAUW-Vero Beach provides scholarships to young women graduating from any of the three high schools in Indian River County and to one or more students who complete their associate or bachelor’s degree at IRSC and are continuing on for a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
In addition, we provide stipends to women enrolled in Treasure Coast Technical College’s (TCTC) accelerated LPN program, which does not allow for time to work, so the stipend helps them manage their living expenses while they complete the program. And women continuing on to earn their RN degree are eligible as well.
Recognizing that many women are working toward certification in non-traditional programs, we recently established a scholarship for at least one female student at Treasure Coast Technical College.
On Saturday, May 2, we will honor several hard-working girls and women at the annual Scholarship & Awards Luncheon.
At this luncheon, we also will elect new AAUW-Vero Beach board members and honor outgoing board members.
