EVENTS

Programs

Sara Smith and Susan Hanerfeld are currently Co-Vice-President for Programs, serving one-year terms through June 2024. This role is responsible to develop and implement high-quality, informative events that run smoothly, are well attended, and provide enriching experiences for the attendees.

Book Review Breakfasts

The Book Review Breakfast Series is our most popular regularly scheduled event; it is held monthly from November through March.  Currently, our Co-VPs for Programs, Sara Smith and Susan Hanerfeld, handles this responsibility, suggesting the BRB theme for the year, contacting prospective speakers from the local community and working with them to determine the books they’ll review.

Hospitality at Events

Julie Watson is currently in charge of the Hospitality Committee. At all our events, especially our Book Review Breakfasts and Speaker Series, volunteers are needed to ensure that the food we serve is appealing and delicious. Tasks involve arranging for food delivery/pick up, setting up, helping to serve, and cleaning up.  These volunteers make sure our events are attractive and enjoyable for our members and guests.

Photography at Events

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words and in 2023-2024, we’d like to document more of our events in photos!  They’ll capture the energy, the camaraderie, and the fun that our programs can generate.  If photography is your thing, let us know and we’ll put you on a list that the event /program planners can access if they need a volunteer to take photos during their event.  Photos of our events may be posted on our website and/or our Facebook page.
